Off Stage, Dave is married to Dodie former Head of Make-Up at Central TV and now a much sought after freelance. Their household is ruled by Mabel a demanding English setter, and Dave has two children from a former conviction. He loves football in general and Aston Villa in particular. His heroes include his best friend for 20 years, the late great Bob Monkhouse, Winston Churchill, Mohammad Ali, Laurel & Hardy, Tony Hancock, Johnny Carson, Red Rum, Best Mate, Jimmy Buffet, Victoria Smurfit, Paul McGrath and Shania Twain.
